Its’s not a
secret that the fashion is characterized for the stereotypes of young, tall and
super skinny girls, with porcelain faces that evoke perfection all the time.
But as the years go by more are the critics to the fashion industry for promoting
a not realistic and anti-natural image.
It is known
of many agencies that force the models to lose weight if they want to be “suitable” for a specific campaign or catwalk, even if this means physical or psychological
damages in the model.
You can
find testimonies on this topic and also a wave of legal regulations have come
up in some countries, like UK, to try to censor this type of behavior.
Even that it’s
true that every time we see more “curvy” models on the runways, like Gigi
Hadid; and that exits the movement of “plus size models” all this models doesn´t have real support of the highs brands and the public like the super skinnies
models still have.
Clearly
there is a problem to solve in the fashion industry because one thing is promoting
the beauty and style of the women, and other very different is reduce the beauty
to one stereotype body, that its unhealthy and changes the perception of beauty
in all the teenagers and women of the world.
Famous
models like Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss claim that they have been struggling
with physical and self-esteem problems in the fashion world.
Beauty it’s
not only one type of body, everyone has beauty and unique characteristics. So
why don’t we stop asking: What its wrong with my body? and we star asking: What
its wrong with the fashion industry?
